In 2014, Landeshauptstadt Saarbrücken, the state capital of the Saarland,
also recognised the added value of strong city branding.
Its corporate design was made evolutionary, while its logo-redesign
was enhanced to be revolutionary. The most important graphic design
element, the blue diagonal in the logo called the Saarband, was made
more fluid by rounding its corners and was used as the distinguishing
design feature in the new look.
